My passion for fishing all started as a toddler growing up in Ames, Iowa. Every summer my family would vacation at Ruegemer's Island View Resort in Richmond Minnesota, where I first learned how to fish with my Snoopy pole. As a teennager, I constantly fished with my friends in every pond, lake, and eventually took a once in a lifetime fishing trip with my Dad to the Boundary Waters in Canada. Growing up I was always fascinated with all different kinds of baits, knew techniques, and color patterns. This lead me in the direction of art and woodworking.


I graduated from Ames High School in 1991, with a Graphic Design Scholarship from Des Moines Area Community College in Ankeny, Iowa. In 2002, I moved to Colorado and attended Red Rock Community College, where I enrolled in various woodworking courses. I started to creating and custom painting my own fishing lures, as a hobby and from there, it grew into Carver Custom Crankbaits in 2013 in Denver, Colorado.

In 2014, I worked with several known lure companies designing new lure pattern themes. One of my color patterns is featured in Bass Pro. All of these baits are sold in the lower 48 states. My main objective is provide custom painted baits that no longer exist anymore and to offer a paint theme that works fishing on your body of water.
